The
train is scheduled in such a way that it travels through the night so that guests
get to relax in 5-star comfort and arrive fresh the next morning at the next
halt, to explore the destination during the day. Breakfast and dinner will be
served on board while lunch will be provided at the destination.
Only on the final day will lunch be served on the train adn dinner at the Taj
Residency Nasik. Tickets for the train are priced at US$ 350 per head per day
and are all-inclusive, except for the drinks and use of the health spa. Catering
and housekeeping on the Deccan Odyssey have been contracted to the Taj Group
of hotels. "Our priority is to sell the full 7-day package but we will
consider the option of also selling segments of the journey based on the availability
of seats," says Singh.
The 21-coach train will have 13 saloons with 5-star facilities that will accommodate
96 passengers, two restaurants, a bar, conference room, health spa, staff accommodation
and two generator cars. Each passenger saloon car comprsing of four compartments
will accommodate two, making a total of eight to a carriage.
All saloons have a common lounge with a flat screen TV and the rooms are fitted
with 5-star convenience including attached baths and toilets. The interior design
